Learn how to create pottery!

You can make a masterpiece! Learn how to throw pottery with hands-on instruction by Jamie Juliana in her pottery studio classes. You’ll be guided through the entire process, step by step... from preparing the clay to firing your piece in the kiln.

Classes are held in the studio, overlooking Jamie’s lush garden nestled in the woods next to the Swatara Creek. Be inspired by nature as you relax and focus on your art while listening to the birds singing from the trees.

Each class is $20.00, plus the cost of clay, for 2 hours of class time. Classes include glaze and firings, use of pottery tools, and use of pottery wheels.

Daytime and Evening classes are available, Monday through Thursday, 9am-11:00am and 6pm-8:00pm. Classes are for all levels of experience!

What are the benefits of learning the craft of pottery?

Creativity!

You can make anything! Mold, shape, cut, paint, and glaze your piece to look exactly like you want it to. Express yourself! The possibilities are endless.

Stress Relief

Taking time out to be creative and focus on something that isn’t the TV, a smartphone, or your to-do list is a great way to decompress and get some relief from every day life. Plus... you get to play with mud!

Socialization

Even in a small classroom setting, you can meet new people and create lasting friendships that enhance your life. You can also take a class with existing friends and make an evening of it. Don’t forget the wine!

Strength

Learning how to manipulate clay with a pottery wheel can strengthen your hands, wrists, and arms. It promotes joint dexterity and movement.

“Phoenix Pottery Studio is awesome. The classes are great, for both beginners and the experienced. The atmosphere is relaxing with amazing views of the surrounding woods and the Swatara Creek. It helps allow the creativity to flow.”
